The Holidays

My favorite things about the Holiday Season are not the shopping, gifts or food, though those can be good, but the time spent with family and friends. I'm challenged by the things we learn about ourselves and others as we take the time to relate together.

We learned a GREAT deal about the protective and aggressive nature of our GREAT Pyrenese while Anne and her GREAT dane were here, I can't imagine what it would have been like if the two other GREATs had come! I Wish we could have gotten a picture of those two together but that was impossible as they couldn't get close to one another without a fight. We enjoyed the opportunity to go to church as a family on Christmas Eve, we kept to the traditional Christmas Breakfast....Delta Breakfast and a big lunch that day. Matt's parents arrived Christmas day for several days of quality time before they head off for a new life and new adventure in Saudi Arabia.

Now it's time to process the last year and think on the year to come.

Our First Entry....

in a new spot! We'll we've finally done it, updated, changed with the times, progressed.....from Xanga to blogspot. I know....Xanga's been "out" for awhile now but change is hard for me sometimes. Especially when I have so much invested. Though change is hard, change can also be good, very very good.

Are there others out there like me or am I unusal in how I react to Christmas time? I take this opportunity, from the week of Christmas through New Year's Day not to shop but to REARRANGE and ORGANIZE everything I can! Today I was under my kitchen cabinets with the kids emptying everything out, cleaning it and reorganizing it, same for my laundry room and my bedroom. And once I get started it's difficult to stop! I LOVE this time of year, i seem to find time to do those tasks I never get around to the rest of the year. Winter time is like that I guess, indoors more, outdoors less.

I'm excited about this fresh start! I LOVE that there are no adds running all over the page(xanga has them). AND I love that we'll be able to keep up better with our more progressive friends that have been here on blogspot now for awhile.

The festivities begin tomorrow!! The kids wrapped up all their schoolwork today until the New Year, we've been baking and preparing and ANNIE arrives tomorrow! And that's just the beginning of the fun.
